I made up the first four lines of this poem a week or two ago and didn't finish it. I say it sometimes when I'm around Rich and Karen, like when I go upstairs to get him ready for his bath. After some light encouragement from Karen, I finished writing the poem. Karen tries to join in when I say it to Rich.
The mommy and the baby went to Mexico to dance
But when they got to Mexico they took a plane to France
The Frenchmen were all hairy even when they looked their best
So mommy and the baby up and went to Budapest
Hungary made them hungry so they waited for a waiter
But, still unsatisfied, said "See ya later, alligator!"
What you say? That Florida? That might be pretty gnarly
But why not trek across the states aback o' momma's Harley?
The mommy and the baby made it home all safe and happy
And now it might be time for one of them to take a nappy
I love this! Probably my new favorite poem of yours... or at least top 3. It brought some awesome images of Karen and Richie on a Harley with riding goggles. I think you need to add illustrations and make it in to a children's book. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Top 3 though? Wow.
DeleteI never thought of it as a children's book, but now that you mention it...
So, where was the daddy while all of this was going on?
ReplyDeleteHe was like, "What are they going to Mexico for?"
