I write in my journal every day.

Or so I've claimed to do since my junior year of high school. (October 2002, by my estimates.) But clearly, that's not as literal as I once thought:

January 14, 26
March 10, 23, 24
April 17, 21, 26
June 5, 29
July 20
August 24
September 6, 15, 25, 29
November 3
December 21, 24

These are the dates on which I did not write in my journal in 2012. That's about 5% of the year that went un-journalized. (By the way, what in the world happened to September? Clearly not my strong month.) What was I doing on these dates? I suppose I'll never know, unless someone out there can tell me. (I only fail to write in my journal when I'm just too tired, too sick, or literally find it too much trouble to get to a computer.)

Better yet, what were YOU doing on these dates? If you have record of it, I'd very much like to know. Maybe you were as busy as I was. And maybe now I should say I write in my journal 95% of the time.

  1. I checked all those dates in my journal and I only wrote about your family on Dec 21st which surprised me because I write about you a lot. For your record, on the 21st, Karen drank some peach apple drink and ate some fried rice. I was happy about that.

    1. It's not much, but that's awesome that you wrote about us! Was that the night we got Panda, or were those leftovers?

Oh, and I just now remembered that we played a board game with Brock and Erin that night. So...that gets the evening. Very cool.

    2. Also, I hope Dennis won't be offended that I wrote nothing on his birthday. This month, I hope to correct that awful mistake.

  2. Pretty sure on September 25, you had food poisoning. So, you were pretty much out of commission.

I think McKay and McKenna were visiting us in March. (Probably on the 23 and 24.) Also they were here in April. Around the 21 or 26.

According to my blog, you were studying a ton on Nov 3.

And Richie was sick on Dec 24.

So, there you have it. Together (and with a little help from your mom), we can account for about 97% of your year. Not too shabby. (Especially because if we went by my blog alone, we could probably only account for three percent of the year.)

    Love you!

Also, I think it is awesome that you are such an avid journal-er. I could learn a lot from your good habits.
