Tonight, we had a Family Home Evening lesson on strengthening our family.

Karen and I discussed how increasingly selfish the world is becoming and how it is therefore increasingly important to spend time as a family and to build, as Elder Perry says, our own family culture. Being so busy this past year has made me appreciate so much more the time I have to spend with my family, whenever I can get the chance.
Imagine being done at 5 everyday, with no papers to correct and no homework to do. It's going to happen. :)

DeleteI couldn't help but notice the comments about being done at 5 everyday and wanting to be an actuary.
ReplyDeleteJust as a word of advice this would entail working for an insurance company. If you end up working for a consulting firm you won't have that 9-5 schedule. You're looking at most days being 8-6:30ish with busy times having you at work until 9 or 10 at night.
And then of course years of studying on top of that...

That's a important point. I just had an interview with an insurance company, so that's top of mind, but there are many other options worth considering. Thanks for the comment.
DeleteYou know, life will get busier in some ways and slow down in others. But really, I think that no matter what happens, it is so important that we are making time for our family. That's really the best thing we'll be able to do for Richie and our future kiddos.
