The concluding nine hour shift

My first semester of teaching came to a close today. I administered the business statistics exam to a portion of the class at 1:30 pm, which meant being on campus by about 1:10 to get everything ready. When it was over, we all met up in the Animal Science building and headed on over to Jenny's house to do the grading. (Jenny is one of the other recitation leaders.) From about 4:00 to 10:00, we graded the entire exam, each of us taking a problem or two so that we could specialize and save time. Jenny provided pizza, I brought soda, and we generally enjoyed ourselves. Actually, when Jenny dropped us off at the end of the night, Vahan (another recitation leader) said, "Thanks, Jenny. I actually had a great time." We joked and laughed a lot tonight. It flew by in a way, but it really feels good to be done with yet another class this semester.

And of course I was so very happy to see my family when I got home, even though I didn't get to see Rich before he went down for bed.
