Basically, I got an A. But that's not what I expected.

So there I was. Sitting in my seat (at the front of the room, on the far right of the center section, where I always sit) at the beginning of our calculus class early this afternoon. Janice immediately started through her stack of exams and called out names, folding each exam in her hand to prevent others from seeing the scores. After a dozen or so names...“Tyler Heasley.” I walked up, grabbed my exam, and...

94/100? You gotta be kidding me!

I got an A on my first calculus exam in five years. I pictured in my mind the number 88 until that moment, and I kept imagining my score would be a B or less. But on that one problem that I didn’t know how to do? Well, I kind of solved it in a different way and got the answer completely wrong, but she docked me hardly any points at all.

I cannot tell you how happy this makes me.
