I promise, Rich is usually very happy
Being with family tonight was hard on Rich for some reason. It might have been the noise of four families coming together under one roof, but I think it was mainly his being tired. We arrived at Kim (sister) and Ryan's (brother-in-law) house just after 7:30 pm (about an hour before he goes to bed), and he wouldn’t let anyone hold him but Karen and me. He cried in anyone else's arms. Mike (brother-in-law) held him for the longest amount of time—and he played with Rich and made faces at him, which was a good distraction—but eventually Rich went right back to crying. As in, huge tears rolling down his cheeks. It was very hard to watch, because he’s my son. So, I ended up holding him most of the time. He fell asleep on me and let me hold him on the couch. I was still a part of the games and everything, and the noise level only increased, if anything, but he slept right through it all. It's odd because he usually enjoys being held by people.
